Demonstrator Training Blog Hop August 2019

Hello, and welcome to August’s Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.  Welcome if you’ve reached me from another blog.  I’m Dianne (The Purple Rose Stamper) from the UK.  I hope you enjoy my blog and then please do hop along to the next one on this list.

At the start of 2019 I challenged myself to be organised and had a plan to make 10 Christmas cards each month so by the time Autumn arrived I would be well advanced with my Christmas prep.  Guess what?.....  so far I’ve failed miserably as I have not made one card.  So, this month’s blog is a Christmas card…. Yeah!! I hear you all say, Christmas in August!  As the new catalogue is still a few weeks away I decided to create the card mainly using stamps sets that were not necessarily Christmas sets.

I’ve used stamps from Sweetly Swirled, Artisan Textures, Rooted in Nature and for the Christmas sentiment I used Rustic Retreat stamp set.  I started by embossing one of the swirly circles with black embossing powder on whisper white card, then stamped the 2 trees in the middle using Shaded Spruce ink.  I masked the trees and then used the lined background from Artisan Textures (close up in 2nd picture) using Balmy Blue for the sky and Granny Apple Green for the grass and using a dauber blended the background using the same colours.  Finally, over-stamping the trees with versamark and sprinkled dazzling diamond glitter so the trees sparkled (although it is hard to see the sparkle in the pictures).

Using the Stamparatus I placed the cut imaged on a piece of basic black card (temporarily securing it in place with a very small piece of double sided tape) then placed the leaf image above the cut image, inked with versamark, repeating this 3 more times.  Once all 4 leaf images had been stamped with versamark and then sprinkled with silver embossing powder I heat embossed.  Finally, using the Christmas sentiment from Rustic Retreat, also heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

To finish the card, I assembled the black layer onto a card base of Shaded Spruce with tombow then using dimensionals secured the swirly circle image in position under the silver embossed leaves.

I’m very happy with my 1stChristmas card for 2019….. just another 99 to go!! J
I hope you also enjoyed this Christmas card, and it would be great if you hopped along to the next Demonstrator on the list to see all the wonderful creations.
